Accessibility Comments

At first, the game's interface seems confusing. Because it's laid out in quite an unconventional way, I suggest you flick and double tap around. However, some controls like the play and resign buttons are easy enough to locate.

Some of the buttons have no labels at all, particularly on the character chooser screen, so just pick one at random and you'll be ready to play. The buttons that do have labels are quite verby, saying things like "hangman button play" but it's not much of a problem.

Another thing to bare in mind is that if you lose, it can be quite tricky to ascertain the word you were trying to guess.
This can be done by flicking around on the game's main screen until you find pairs of words, and the first that VoiceOver speaks is the one you were sent to solve.

The game displays some information graphically such as the number of strikes left but Thankfully however, the mystery word can be read with VO.
There are probably some other things I have forgotten to point out, so feel free to leave a comment.
If you can put up with the games little quirks, Hanging With Friends is a fun and extremely addicting game.

There are some accessibility issues with this app, but it can still be used if you are willing to tolerate these issues and learn how to work around them.

The latest version of Hanging with Friends has been made much more accessible! Many of the controls and buttons now contain labels and voiceover hints, and letter point values are now announced. You can also check the progress of the game by reading the hint of the history button.

#2 moving letters

Hi All,

I got this game and am trying to use my Apex as well as tapping the screen to find the letters. When I double tap the letter to move it, VO doesn't seem to say which slot I'm moving it to making it hard to figure out where I am or if I'm even close to forming a word. VO does read most buttons and the slots except when you try to move the tile into a slot. I'm really anxious to play this game so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Randi

Hi! As I like word games, I have considered installing Hanging With Friends on my iPhone 4S. However, I don't have a Facebook account, and Facebook Connect was mentioned in the description of this app as a way of finding friends to play this game with. Can I also find friends easily and accessibly without having Facebook? I very much hope so, if not I may have to miss out on what sounds a pretty good game!

Try RAYJAY 96 Capitolize all the letters in RAYJAY and space before typing 96. I checked under game center, and that's how it set my name up...
